to try to talk to me...I am listening.

I am currently interning at a nursing home. There is an 84y/o man who got CVA & HCVD & COPD, that's why he can't move his body but the right hand and almost lost his speaking ability. 5 months ago, his Japanese wife died but his family chose not to tell him.

In the second week, he started to try to talk to me, I remember the first vocabulary he said was thx in japanese. I was so surprised with my mouth opened wild.

Last Thursday, he started to talk to me with a whole sentense, he asked " how are u doing today?" I said " yes, I am doing well."
Last Friday, I was hold by his left hand, that's really a miracle of watching him to use left hand for me.

He talks more and more day by day, my teacher said she never saw him talking like this.I can see he is improving himself. 84y/o is not a dying age, this person is still growing and living.

He asked me " where is my wife?" I said "I don't know." Could it be a white lie?

In Nursing Home, most of patients are old and weak, whose family come to watch them once or twice a week. A few come to watch them every day.

An old man brings a flower to his wife every day, sometimes he writes a love poetry to her. Last week he told me " She was so charming and pretty whom I dreamed of yesterday night." " Really? How old was she in your dream?" "sixty-something."

Is that true love? Definitely yes. it always comes into my life while I choose not to believe in that.

I have met soooooooooo many touching & sweet things there, it always makes me worth doing my job.
